Socialism: Also Known as Communism Lite
I have a feeling that this is going to earn me a long lecture from my Very Intellectual Third Cousin, but so be it.
I just learned on Tuesday that one of my friends (now former friend–you'll see why in a moment) is a socialist. Well, like every civics-related title these days (liberal, socialist, Republican, capitalist, etcetera), I figured it was namecalling; but she said no, Bernie Sanders is an avowed socialist.
I was curious, so I looked up socialism.
Yes, socialism came first, but in essence, socialism is nothing more than Communism Lite. (Not my terminology, by the way.) In socialism, the people get the control (or are supposed to). In communism, the government gets the control; usually through tyranny and dictatorships in general. It's just as Marx said: "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need." (Although it was originally said by a Frenchman in 1851, I'm told.)
The similarities are explained in an insanely long chart on the next page…
